Role - Devops Engineer
Location - Hybrid, onsite in London 2 days a week
Contract - 6 months
Rate - up to £550 per day
Start - ASAP

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join an established technology team supporting a range of business-critical applications within a complex Microsoft environment.
This is a hands-on role combining DevOps engineering, application operations and automation, with a focus on improving deployment processes, system reliability and software delivery.
You'll work closely with development, infrastructure and project teams to improve existing systems, introduce automation and enhance the efficiency of the software development lifecycle.

The Role
Working within an experienced technical team, you will:

• Design, build and improve automated deployment and release processes across multiple environments.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as TeamCity, Octopus Deploy and Microsoft Visual Studio Team System.
• Use PowerShell and C# to automate processes and improve deployment consistency.
• Support and troubleshoot business-critical applications, including.NET-based systems and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
• Improve application performance, availability, resilience and operational stability.
• Manage application changes and releases, balancing delivery requirements with production risks.
• Work with development teams to improve testing, deployment practices and operational readiness.
• Investigate technical issues across applications, servers, hosting and networking environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams, developers and suppliers to implement improvements.
• Share technical knowledge and support the development of colleagues.

The Person
We are looking for a technically strong DevOps Engineer with experience across Microsoft development environments, deployment automation and application operations.
You should have:

• Strong experience within Microsoft development and operational environments.
• Hands-on scripting and automation experience using PowerShell.
• Experience with C# and supporting.NET applications.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of deployment tools such as TeamCity, Octopus Deploy or Microsoft Visual Studio Team System.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across applications and production environments.
• Understanding of web hosting, load balancing and networking.
• Experience working within Agile teams.

Additional experience with SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Azure and hybrid cloud environments would be advantageous.
