Organisational Design, Future Ways of Working, Strategic Asset ReviewEast London
£650-£700 per day Inside IR35 Hybrid Working As public sector organisations rethink how they deliver services, the relationship between their workforce, working environments and property estate is becoming increasingly important.
We are working with a London local authority undertaking a broad programme of organisational modernisation, reviewing how its services are structured, how its workforce will operate in the future and what this means for its accommodation requirements.
We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to help translate these organisational changes into a practical future workplace strategy. Working across HR, Property, IT and operational services, you will help determine what the organisation needs from its estate, how its people should work and how future accommodation can support a more efficient and effective operating model.
The Role
Working across multiple directorates, you will help define the organisation's future workplace requirements, ensuring that accommodation and facilities support its evolving workforce and service delivery models.
This will involve:
- Assessing how organisational restructuring, workforce changes and service redesign will influence future accommodation requirements.
- Working closely with HR, Property, IT and service leaders to understand workforce structures, working patterns and operational needs.
- Reviewing existing accommodation arrangements and identifying opportunities to improve utilisation, consolidate space and introduce more effective ways of working.
- Translating future workforce requirements into practical workplace solutions, including considerations around space, flexibility, technology, equipment and facilities.
- Developing options, recommendations and business cases to inform senior leadership decisions.
- Coordinating dependencies with wider estates, relocation and service transformation programmes.
- Supporting the development of realistic implementation plans that balance organisational ambitions with operational and financial constraints.
About You The suitable candidate must demonstrate the following experience:
- Significant experience delivering organisational design, workforce transformation, workplace strategy or estates-related business change.
- A strong understanding of how organisational structures, workforce requirements, property and operational service delivery interact.
- Experience working across HR, Property, IT and operational functions to develop and implement practical solutions.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to challenge existing assumptions and develop evidence-based recommendations.
- Experience within local government, the NHS, Civil Service or similarly complex public sector organisations.
- The ability to operate strategically whilst remaining focused on practical implementation and delivery.
The successful candidate will play an important role in shaping how a major public sector organisation operates in the future, ensuring that its property estate and working environments are aligned with the needs of its workforce and the services it delivers.
This opportunity would particularly suit someone who has operated between organisational transformation and workplace strategy, rather than someone whose experience is predominantly in property management or building delivery.
