Accounts Payable Manager

Hartford Care Group is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to own our AP function across all Group entities and homes. Reporting to the Head of Transactions, you'll lead the Accounts Payable Officers and make sure supplier invoices and payments are accurate, controlled and on time.

What you'll be doing

• Leading AP across all Group entities, ensuring invoices are processed accurately, promptly and in line with agreed controls
• Owning supplier onboarding and master-data controls, with bank details independently validated before activation or amendment
• Managing invoice workflow, coding, approval and payment-run preparation, with clear segregation of duties
• Overseeing supplier statement reconciliations, aged creditors and duplicate-payment checks, and clearing exceptions promptly
• Maintaining payment calendars and cash requirements, working with Treasury and operational teams
• Leading month-end AP cut-offs, creditor schedules and accruals
• Handling supplier queries and escalations, and challenging unsupported invoices and incorrect charges
• Leading and developing the Accounts Payable Officers, monitoring quality, turnaround times and adherence to controls

What we're looking for

• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACA/ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent finance qualification
• Proven experience of leading a high-volume AP function in a complex multi-site or multi-entity organisation
• Strong knowledge of supplier master-data controls, statement reconciliations, payment runs and duplicate-payment prevention
• Experience of month-end cut-offs, creditor reconciliations and resolving historic or disputed items
• Strong people-management skills, with the ability to set standards and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines
• Intermediate Excel and strong systems discipline
