Here at GXO, we are looking for an Health & Safety Officer to join our team on our Scotland Gateway contract at our Bellshill site. You'll be at the heart of creating a safe, compliant and well-managed working environment across our Defence site. Working closely with the H&S Sector Lead and local management team, you'll help drive a strong safety culture, maintain high standards of compliance and coordinate facilities activities that keep the site operating safely and efficiently.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Pay, benefits and more

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, private medical & dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You'll also have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more!

What you'll do on a typical day

  • Support the implementation of Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) policies and procedures
  • Promote a positive safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Advise managers and employees on health and safety best practice, risk management and compliance requirements
  • Monitor and coordinate corrective actions arising from audits, inspections, incidents and risk assessments
  • Support site facilities management activities, ensuring a safe, compliant and well-maintained working environment

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Experience in Health & Safety and/or Facilities Management within a logistics, warehousing, transport or operational environment
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or working towards qualification)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience coordinating contractors, services or site support activities
  • Good organisational, administrative and IT skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to influence and drive continuous improvement
