Education & certifications

Must hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
Previous tug experience is advantageous; however, full training will be provided.

The role

As a Class 1 Shunter, you will:

Shunt, load, and unload trailers across the depot, ensuring all units are positioned safely and accurately within designated bays and yard locations.
Assist with day-to-day yard operations, helping to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organised working environment.
Conduct daily vehicle safety checks using company-issued technology, ensuring vehicles remain compliant, roadworthy, and ready for operation.
Work closely with the transport team, providing clear and timely updates on trailer movements, vehicle checks, load status, and operational progress.
Carry out local collections and deliveries when required, delivering a professional and reliable service.
Take part in ongoing training and development to maintain industry knowledge, enhance skills, and stay aligned with company procedures.
Complete shunter training and operate in line with company standards, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient yard movements at all times.

Class 1 Shunter

Location: The Range, Stowmarket
Shift: 4on 4off Nights, 16:00hrs - 04:00hrs.

Excellent Pay Rate: Earn £22.25 per hour (£43,440 per annum), based on 11.25-hour shifts, with night allowance included.
