Workforce Development Trainer (Digital Skills & IT Training)

Blackpool Council is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and innovative Workforce Development Trainer to join our small but dynamic Organisation and Workforce Development Team.

This exciting and varied role will play a key part in developing the digital capabilities of our workforce, with a strong focus on IT training, digital skills development and technology-enabled learning. You will design, deliver and evaluate engaging training programmes that help employees maximise their use of Microsoft 365 applications, council systems and digital tools, supporting improved productivity, collaboration and service delivery across the organisation.

A significant part of the role will involve delivering a comprehensive programme of IT and digital skills training, supporting staff with both core digital competencies and the effective use of new technologies. You will work closely with services to identify learning needs, develop practical training solutions and ensure employees have the confidence and skills required to thrive in an increasingly digital workplace.

You will also play a leading role in the development of the council's highly regarded e-learning programme, creating and maintaining engaging digital learning resources and supporting a blended learning approach. Experience of developing online learning content and using learning technologies would be highly advantageous.

This is a highly visible role requiring excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills. You will be confident delivering training to diverse audiences, capable of inspiring learners at all levels, and passionate about helping colleagues develop the digital skills needed to deliver modern public services.
