A growing, private equity-backed SaaS business is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to take ownership of financial reporting and controls during a period of continued growth and transformation.

Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will lead the financial control function, strengthen month-end processes and ensure the business has robust financial information to support decision-making. The role will suit a hands-on FC with experience in a technology or recurring-revenue environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close and preparation of monthly management accounts
• Own balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and financial controls
• Oversee revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting
• Manage cash flow reporting and working capital
• Improve financial reporting processes and accounting procedures
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Partner with the FP&A team to ensure accurate and consistent reporting
• Prepare information for the CFO, board and private equity investors
• Lead and develop the existing finance team
• Support systems improvements and wider finance transformation initiatives

Ideal candidate

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Proven Financial Controller experience within SaaS, software or technology
• Strong understanding of recurring revenue, subscription billing and deferred revenue
• Experience managing month-end, audit and financial controls
• Previous PE-backed or high-growth business experience
• Strong systems and process improvement capability
• Comfortable operating at pace and delivering immediate impact
