The role
Faber Academy Online Manager
Maternity Cover: 12-month fixed term contract, part time
Salary: £28,800 - £32,000 per annum (28 hours per week)
Faber Academy is a thriving creative writing school, with a broad offering of courses, masterclasses and mentorship for writers of all experiences, ambitions and backgrounds. With options to study in-person at Faber's HQ in London, Newcastle, or online via our bespoke online classroom, writers can choose from classes in fiction, non-fiction or poetry with experienced and passionate tutors.
Last year, we welcomed nearly 2,000 writers to our courses, across 50 in-person courses and 80 online courses - and we have a growing scholarship programme for writers who otherwise could not afford to attend our courses.
The Faber Academy team is small, friendly and very passionate about creative writing - and we're very excited to be looking for someone to join the team in London to cover a period of maternity leave.
What you will be doing...
You'll be responsible for the programming and smooth running of Faber Academy's online courses - making sure that every writer has the best possible experience on their course. From meeting with our online tutors to schedule their course and reporting on day-to-day sales to the team, to monitoring and evaluating student feedback and speaking to prospective students at an open day.
You'll also manage the maintenance of Academy's digital properties - including our bespoke Learning Management System and e-commerce site.
Who we're looking for...
You'll be brilliantly organised and used to managing multiple projects and priorities - and you will be accustomed to working closely with a small team, moving flexibly to react to new situations. As you'll be working closely with tutors and writers at all stages of their careers, we're looking for someone who is compassionate and understanding of the highs and lows of the writing life.
And whether you're talking to writers, web developers, agents, or the public, you'll be an enthusiastic ambassador for Faber Academy and the craft of creative writing.
Ideally beginning in February 2027 at the latest, it will be a part-time position (28 hours per week) for a fixed term of approximately 12 months, based in our central London office. Hybrid working is available. 28 hours per week is preferred, although we are happy to consider 21 hours.
If the above sounds like you, then we would love to receive your application.
To apply, please send a CV and covering letter to OnlineManagerMat@faber.co.uk quoting ref FF.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 8th November 2026.
Faber has a staff of just over 140, based across our offices in Hatton Garden (London) and Harlow. We want all our staff to have the best possible, most positive and enjoyable experience while working at Faber.
