Senior Quality Engineer (Mobile)

Mobile platforms are evolving fast, and the pressure to deliver seamless customer experiences is relentless. Teams working on trusted, governed data for decisions and growth need quality built in from the start, not added as an afterthought. This Senior Quality Engineer (Mobile) role in London is hybrid and sits within a cross-functional Scrum Team. You will help shape how quality is engineered into every stage of the software development lifecycle. The work matters because the customer experience depends on early risk identification and reliable automation.

Responsibilities

• Embed within a cross-functional Scrum Team to build quality into the customer experience throughout the software development lifecycle
• Work closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners and Quality Engineers to identify risks early and influence testability
• Develop effective automated coverage and provide clear evidence to support quality decisions
• Enable and engineer quality as a specialist, supporting the team in delivering confidently
• Contribute to an environment where Engineers, Product and Quality Engineers collectively own the quality of the customer experience

Requirements

• Minimum 7+ years of technical experience with a bachelor's or master's degree in science (preferably Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines)
• Hands-on testing experience in iOS and Android mobile platforms using various functional and automated tools
• Minimum 3+ years of mobile app automation experience with tools like Monkey Talk, Selendriod, Appium or Katalon
• Deep knowledge of Functional, Integration, Regression, Exploratory, End to End, Compatibility, GUI, Web Services and Accessibility testing
• Good understanding of Swift, Kotlin or similar functional programming language
• Strong programming abilities and debugging skills
• Excellent API testing experience using Postman, IntelliJ Http Client or similar tools
• Strong experience with debugging tools like Charles Proxy, Splunk, Sentry or Console
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with full life cycle software deployment using Agile practices

• Experience with WebdriverIO (WDIO) or comparable JavaScript/TypeScript-based UI automation frameworks
• Appium for mobile application automation
• JavaScript and/or TypeScript automation development
• Native iOS and Android testing and automation
• API testing and API automation frameworks
• Customer Journey or End-to-End automation
• CI/CD tools and practices, particularly GitHub Actions
• Test-data creation and reusable test-data approaches
• Automation reliability, including identifying and resolving flaky or inefficient tests
• Logs, observability and other engineering tools used for defect investigation and root-cause analysis
