About the Role

Oakmead Dental Practice is looking for an enthusiastic Lead Dental Nurse to join our friendly team in East Grinstead. This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on clinical nursing with a senior role supporting colleagues and maintaining excellent standards of patient care. For the right candidate, we will fund the full cost of a recognised sedation training course, helping you develop specialist skills and progress your career.

Working Hours

• Monday: 8.00am-5.30pm (1-hour unpaid break)
• Tuesday: 8.00am-5.30pm (1-hour unpaid break)
• Wednesday: 8.00am-5.30pm (1-hour unpaid break)
• Saturday: 8.30am-1.00pm (alternate weeks only)

Sedation Qualification and Training

We welcome applications from:

• Qualified candidates who already hold a recognised sedation nursing qualification.
• Candidates in training who are enrolled on a sedation course or working towards their qualification.
• Candidates seeking development who are experienced Dental Nurses keen to undertake sedation training, with the full course cost funded by the practice for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

As Lead Dental Nurse, you'll work closely with our clinicians to provide high-quality chairside support and help ensure the smooth running of the practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing surgeries, instruments and equipment.
• Providing chairside assistance across a range of dental treatments.
• Supporting sedation procedures in line with your training and competence.
• Reassuring patients and delivering compassionate care.
• Supporting and guiding the nursing team.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records.
• Upholding decontamination, infection prevention and control standards.
• Supporting clinical compliance and promoting best practice.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

• GDC registered as a Dental Nurse.
• Passionate about patient care and professional development.
• Organised, proactive and confident working independently and as part of a team.
• An effective communicator with a professional and approachable manner.
• Committed to high clinical, compliance and infection control standards.
• Able to work the agreed pattern, including alternate-week Saturdays.
