The role

We're proud to be a certified B Corp - one of only seven hotels/hotel groups in the UK to earn this prestigious accreditation. This means we're part of a global community of businesses committed to using profits and purpose to make a positive impact on people and the planet. If you want to be part of a team that values sustainability, inclusivity and meaningful work, we'd love to hear from you.

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable Night Porter to join our professional Nights Team, helping to ensure a smooth and secure operation throughout the night while delivering an exceptional experience for every guest.

What you'll do

  • Delivering a consistently high level of service at Reception and across the Hotel throughout the night.
  • Taking over responsibility for Reception from the evening team and handing over smoothly to the morning team.
  • Using the Hotel's IT systems to check guests in and out, process charges, update accounts and produce nightly reports.
  • Responding to guest enquiries and feedback promptly, professionally and with a positive attitude.
  • Operating the switchboard, taking accurate messages and arranging wake-up calls.
  • Completing the night audit and carrying out all relevant financial and administrative procedures.
  • Assisting with Food & Beverage duties, including cleaning, setting up conference rooms and serving items from the night menu.
  • Ensuring the safety, comfort and well-being of all guests while on duty.

What you'll be doing

As Night Porter, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of service across the Hotel during the night, assisting with guest requests, maintaining security and supporting both Reception and Food & Beverage operations.

About You

You will ideally have previous experience working nights within a hotel, conference, or hospitality environment, with a good understanding of reception or guest service operations. A background in multi-site catering or hotel service would be advantageous.

Above all, you will bring genuine enthusiasm for hospitality, excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. You'll be confident working independently, calm under pressure and take pride in ensuring the Hotel runs smoothly overnight.

The Hotel reserves the right to close the vacancy early, should suitable applicants be found.

Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre is committed to being an equal opportunities employer and applicants will be shortlisted and recruited on the sole basis of their relevant skills, experience and qualifications. If you have a disability and require any adjustment to be made to the recruitment process in order for you to participate, please contact careers@edgbastonparkhotel.com or call the People & Culture Team on 0121 414 8927.
