The role
As one of our B1 Licensed Engineers you'll play a vital role in keeping our customers moving and reducing delays - and helping us continue to have the highest technical reliability of any Airbus fleet in the world.
Following a new pay agreement, we're excited to share that salaries across our Engineering & Maintenance team have recently increased making now a great time to join us as we go live with recruitment for this role. As part of an 800 strong team, you'll do this by using your technical knowledge of aircraft to perform maintenance activities on our fleet of A320 and A320neos to industry leading safety and technical standards. Working under the guidance of Duty Engineers or Aircraft Maintenance Supervisors, you'll carry out defect rectification and routine servicing using the latest tools and technology.
You keep aircraft safe, serviceable and ready to fly, bringing technical judgement, precision and calm decision-making to every shift.
Join easyJet's Engineering and Maintenance team at Gatwick, carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, rectifying defects and certifying completed work in line with approved maintenance documentation, company procedures and legislation.
You'll use your licence and aircraft knowledge to support safe, efficient departures, while keeping the Duty Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor informed about work, risks and anything that could affect the operating programme.
"This role is all about sound engineering judgement and doing the basics brilliantly. We're looking for someone who takes real ownership of safety and standards, communicates clearly and helps the whole shift deliver a safe, on-time operation."
You'll be part of easyJet's Engineering and Maintenance team, working closely with colleagues across the operation to maintain high aircraft performance standards. The environment is fast-paced and practical, with teamwork, clear handovers and a strong focus on safe delivery.
You'll exercise your licence and approvals across scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, defect rectification and release-to-service activity, making sure work meets the required technical and legal standards.
You'll review jobs and resources, set clear priorities for colleagues allocated to you and help channel effort towards safe, on-time departures. When supervising others, you'll protect workmanship standards and make sure the right tools are used.
You'll keep maintenance records accurate and timely, check the certification and condition of replacement parts, and report technical delays, significant defects, incidents and other required events through the correct channels.
Strong handovers matter. You'll record deferred defects, make sure required spares are ordered and leave clear verbal and documented information for the next shift.
How you'll work
Gatwick | Full-time | Shift-based (12-hour DDNN or 10.75-hour NNNN shifts available)
What we're looking for
You must already hold a UK CAA Part-66 B2 Licence with an A320 type rating. You will have up-to-date knowledge of relevant airworthiness legislation.
You will bring at least three years' operational experience in a line maintenance environment, alongside a working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and confidence using IT-based reporting and recording systems.
You communicate issues clearly to management, work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and stay focused on internal and external customers when operational pressure rises.
You're flexible when deadlines or operational problems change the plan, and you're comfortable challenging existing approaches and contributing to practical improvements.
