Technology & TransformationConnect to your Industry
Resilience refers to the ability of an organisation to withstand, respond to, and recover from disruptions to their operations. In an increasingly interconnected world where 'always on' services are both expected and demanded, the importance of resilience is growing. It's required not just by executive boards but by an organisation's customers, by financial markets, and by regulators.
Our team provides resilience services to a variety of clients within our three industries: Financial Services, Corporates, and Government and Public Services. We support capability uplift, work with organisations to meet regulatory requirements, perform benchmarking and other types of assessments, and prepare organisations to be resilient against a wide range of risks and threats.
Risks and threats to organisations in 2024 can be broad ranging; from significant business disruptions due to cyber attacks, acts of terrorism, industrial strikes, severe weather and pandemics to major project 'go-live's, share price collapse, a new product launch or product recalls, significant fraud or data leakage, IT failure or human error.

Connect to your opportunity
We are looking for a Manager to join our Cyber and Technology Resilience team and help clients strengthen their ability to withstand, respond to and recover from significant disruption.
You will lead the delivery of complex resilience engagements, combining an understanding of business priorities, technology environments and operational risk to deliver practical, sustainable outcomes. You will work closely with senior client stakeholders, multidisciplinary Deloitte teams and third-party providers, bringing structure, constructive challenge and sound judgement to complex problems.
In this role, you will
· Lead the day-to-day delivery of client engagements, taking accountability for scope, quality, risks, resourcing, timelines and project economics.
· Advise clients on how to design, implement and embed resilience across their people, processes, technology, data and third-party ecosystem.
· Lead resilience assessments and improvement programmes covering areas such as technology recovery, resilient architecture, service continuity, data resilience, crisis preparedness, testing and recovery automation.
· Translate technical resilience risks and dependencies into clear business impacts, priorities and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
· Design and facilitate recovery exercises and scenario-based testing, helping clients evaluate whether their recovery arrangements will operate effectively under severe but plausible conditions.
· Develop trusted client relationships, confidently engaging senior business and technology stakeholders and working through differing priorities to influence outcomes.
· Identify opportunities to broaden the support provided to clients, shaping propositions and contributing to proposals, presentations and other business-development activity.
· Coordinate blended teams comprising Deloitte colleagues, client teams, technology vendors and other third parties.
· Provide clear direction, coaching and constructive feedback to junior colleagues, creating opportunities for them to develop their consulting and technical capabilities.
· Review and challenge project outputs, ensuring that conclusions are evidence-based, recommendations are practical and deliverables meet Deloitte quality expectations.
· Contribute to the development of the Cyber and Technology Resilience practice through propositions, methodologies, market insights, thought leadership, recruitment and internal initiatives.
· Bring a broader perspective to the challenges involved in leading diverse teams and create an inclusive environment in which colleagues are supported, heard and able to contribute.
· Demonstrate Deloitte values through responsible decision-making, collaboration, professional integrity and a consistent focus on measurable client impact.
Connect to your skills and professional experience
We recognise that strong candidates may bring different combinations of consulting, industry and technical experience. You do not need to meet every criterion, but you should be able to demonstrate experience across a substantial proportion of the following areas.
Leadership and consulting experience
· Experience leading workstreams or engagements within cyber resilience, technology resilience, operational resilience, disaster recovery, business continuity, technology risk or a closely related field.
· Ability to take ownership of complex deliverables, establish an effective delivery approach and manage competing priorities while maintaining quality.
· Strong project-management skills, including experience managing scope, plans, dependencies, risks, issues, resources and project finances.
· Experience leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams, delegating effectively and supporting the development of junior colleagues through coaching and feedback.
· Sound judgement and the confidence to make decisions, escalate issues appropriately and provide constructive challenge when evidence or delivery quality falls below expectations.
· A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with the ability to create clarity and maintain momentum across virtual, hybrid and multi-organisation teams.
Client and stakeholder management
· Strong client relationship-management skills, with experience building credibility across business, operational and technology stakeholders.
· Ability to communicate complex cyber and technology resilience issues clearly from both business and technical perspectives.
· Confidence engaging senior stakeholders, facilitating workshops and presenting findings, risks and recommendations in a concise and compelling way.
· Ability to understand a client's strategic and operational context and translate it into proportionate, pragmatic resilience priorities.
· Experience working with client teams, external suppliers, technology vendors and other professional advisers to deliver shared outcomes.
· Strong analytical, report-writing and presentation skills, with the ability to produce executive-level deliverables.
Cyber and technology resilience experience
· Knowledge of current technology resilience and cyber-risk trends, including resilience and recovery strategies, hybrid technology environments, data resilience and data-centre or cloud migration.
· Experience assessing resilience capabilities and identifying weaknesses across technology, applications, infrastructure, data, operational processes and third-party arrangements.
· Understanding of recovery planning, solution design, testing and exercising, including the practical dependencies that affect an organisation's ability to recover services.
· Experience of hybrid environments incorporating on-premises infrastructure and cloud technology.
· Knowledge of relevant cloud, infrastructure, backup, replication and recovery technologies. Experience with environments involving providers such as AWS, Microsoft or Dell Technologies would be beneficial.
· Knowledge of IT service-management and technology-governance practices. Relevant experience or qualifications in frameworks such as ITIL or COBIT would be advantageous.
· Awareness of resilient architecture principles and common data-centre technology components.
· Ability to evaluate technical information critically and connect technical weaknesses to business-service impacts.
Commercial and practice contribution
· Experience supporting business development, including identifying client needs, shaping opportunities and contributing to proposals or pitches.
· Ability to build and maintain internal networks, connecting relevant expertise to client and practice priorities.
· A proactive approach to developing propositions, methodologies, reusable assets, market perspectives or thought leadership.
· Commercial awareness and an understanding of how effective engagement management contributes to client value and sustainable business performance.
· Commitment to maintaining current market and technical knowledge and sharing learning across the wider team.
Desirable technical experience
· Depending on the focus of the role, experience in one or more of the following would be beneficial:
· Designing or reviewing resilient technology architectures.
· Backup, replication, failover and disaster-recovery solutions.
· Cloud resilience and recovery within AWS or Microsoft environments.
· Data resilience and recovery, including protection against destructive cyber events.
· Recovery automation or experience using one or more programming or scripting languages.
· Mainframe resilience and recovery.
· Relevant professional qualifications in technology, cloud, service management, cyber security, business continuity, disaster recovery or project management.
