The role

We are currently recruiting for a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive to manage a varied caseload of household and commercial property recovery claims on behalf of a portfolio of well-established insurer clients.

This is a challenging role offering a blend of technical legal work and client engagement. It will suit a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys tackling complex issues, providing pragmatic advice, and developing strong relationships with clients.

A key aspect of the role is supporting the team's client-facing initiatives. The team regularly delivers seminars, workshops and technical training to insurer clients, and candidates should be enthusiastic about contributing to the development and delivery of these sessions, while helping to strengthen existing client relationships and identify new opportunities for growth.

What you'll do

  • Conducting initial case reviews and reporting on strategy, liability and prospects of recovery
  • Managing disclosure exercises and reviewing documentary evidence
  • Undertaking detailed investigations and analysing complex evidential issues
  • Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts and other external stakeholders
  • Carrying out legal research and providing clear, practical advice
  • Drafting a range of legal documents, pleadings and correspondence
  • Attending conferences, mediations, hearings and trials with counsel
  • Maintaining regular contact with insurer and lay clients, providing timely updates and advice
  • Negotiating settlements, including the consideration and drafting of Part 36 offers
  • Preparing and managing pre-action and interim applications
  • Drafting trial documentation and supporting cases through to resolution
  • Assisting with all forms of ADR, including mediation
  • Attending court hearings and procedural appointments
  • Undertaking advocacy in both telephone and in-person hearings, where appropriate
Ensuring compliance with the SRA Standards and Regulations and all relevant internal procedures

How you'll work

Working Hours:

35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm inclusive of 1 hour unpaid lunch break.

We are hybrid workers with 1 day attendance at the office required.
