Our NPD Year in Industry Placement at Cranswick Froch Foods offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience within one of the UK's leading food manufacturing businesses. This varied placement will provide a strong foundation in all aspects of product development, food innovation and customer-led product delivery.

Working alongside experienced NPD, Technical and Operational teams, you'll gain first-hand experience of product development, recipe formulation, factory trials, customer requirements and product launches, while developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the food industry. Based at our Froch Foods site, you'll play a key role in helping us develop innovative products for major UK retailers while gaining exposure to the many functions that support a modern food manufacturing business.

About the NPD Placement

As an NPD Placement Student, you'll gain hands-on experience across all areas of a modern food manufacturing development function. Working alongside experienced NPD, Technical and Operational teams, you'll develop an understanding of how products move from concept to launch while gaining valuable insight into the journey from idea to supermarket shelf.

• Product Development - supporting the creation and improvement of products to meet customer and consumer requirements.
• Recipe Formulation - assisting with product trials, recipe development and product optimisation.
• Factory Trials & Product Launches - supporting the transition of new products from concept into manufacturing.
• Customer & Market Insight - understanding retailer requirements, food trends and consumer expectations.
• NPD Projects - supporting real business projects focused on innovation, quality and commercial success.

This placement is designed to provide a broad understanding of food product development and innovation, giving you a strong foundation for a future career in NPD and the wider food industry.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for enthusiastic and creative students studying a Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or related degree who are keen to learn and build a career in product development. You'll have strong attention to detail, enjoy problem-solving, and be confident working with a range of teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
