The role

We Care
That's why we need people like you. People who appreciate their role in helping others to be successful.

We have an opportunity for a Planner to join our team, supporting the delivery of the SMART Metering Programme for our client, Scottish Water.

Planning plays an important part in making sure work gets delivered successfully. You'll help organise jobs from the outset, making sure requirements are understood, work instructions are clear and our operational teams have what they need to get the job done. Working closely with colleagues and customers, you'll help keep work on track, resolve issues and make sure progress is communicated throughout.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in...

  • Planning and scheduling work for operational teams using a range of systems, ensuring activities are organised effectively.
  • Preparing clear and accurate work instructions so operational teams understand what needs to be done.
  • Monitoring work from start to completion, keeping records up to date and communicating progress to the relevant teams.
  • Acting as a point of contact for operational colleagues, helping resolve issues and keep work moving.
  • Raising, processing and closing traffic management requests, including footway and road closures, notices and permits.
  • Liaising with colleagues and customers to confirm requirements, manage expectations and support the smooth delivery of planned works.

We would love to hear from you if...

You're organised, have good attention to detail and enjoy working in a busy environment where priorities can change. You're a confident communicator who enjoys dealing with different people, solving problems and making sure things get done.

You'll be comfortable using IT systems, managing competing priorities and keeping information accurate and up to date. Previous planning experience would be useful, but we're also interested in people with transferable skills who are keen to learn and develop in the role.
