The role
The Wealth COO GAU is responsible for several areas including Wealth Controls, Supervision and Data Analytics activities. The Cross-disciplinary Controls role (C13) serves as a core execution partner within the COO Global Assessment Unit (GAU). In this role, the individual drives day-to-day Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) deliverables, prepares analytical assessments, coordinates governance artifacts, and maintains the operational integrity of the COO GAU risk and control profile in Citi Risk & Controls (CRC). The candidate will execute critical operational workflows across the end-to-end MCA lifecycle-including scoping, inherent risk evaluation, control inventory coordination, Continuous Risk Management (CRM) triggers, issue/loss event mapping, Annual Risk Assessment (ARA) packs, and Business Risk and Control Committee (BRCC) reporting.
What you'll do
- Execute and maintain the COO GAU scope of operations, Assessment Unit descriptions, organizational mapping (DSMT Managed Segments), products, jurisdictions, and legal entity dependencies.
- Facilitate the adoption and alignment of Global Process MCA Profiles (GPMPs) into the GAU, identifying applicable Level 3 Enterprise Business Process Taxonomy (CEAM) processes.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure cascaded PRCM (Process, Risk, Control, Monitoring) content is reviewed within mandated SLAs.
- Conduct granular analyses of operational and compliance risks across COO front-to-back processes.
- Draft structured, fact-based Inherent Risk Rationales evaluating likelihood (frequency of occurrence) and significance of impact (financial loss potential and non-financial drivers: Regulatory, Reputation, Conduct, Business Disruption).
- Ensure all Tier 1-3 significant inherent risks, SOX-aligned risks, and Tier 1-2 regulatory obligations are accurately mapped and maintained.
- Partner with Control Owners and Process Owners to ensure all Key Controls mitigating Tier 1-3 risks are recorded in the central Control Inventory and meet Minimum Control Design Requirements (MCDRs).
- Track the completion of Control Design Assessments (CDA), Monitoring & Testing Design Assessments (MDA/TDA), and Operating Effectiveness Monitoring/Testing (OEM/OET) execution.
- Review control attributes ("5 Ws": Who, What, When, Where, Why) to verify clarity, completeness, and audit-readiness.
4. Continuous Risk Management (CRM) & Event Trigger Execution
- Monitor and track automated and manual CRM triggers in CRC (e.g., organizational changes, regulatory updates, process modifications, new product rollouts).
- Coordinate the review and disposition of CRM assessments within 45 calendar days of trigger confirmation, preparing impact analysis for the GAU Lead.
- Review incoming Operational Risk Events (OREs) from the Loss Capture System (LCS) and Level 1-3 open issues in iCAPS impacting the COO GAU.
- Execute the mapping of OREs and issues to impacted PRCMs within the 30-day window to prevent backstop breaches.
- Coordinate with ICRM to agree and map relevant regulatory obligations and publications timely
- Drive the operational preparation for the Quarterly Risk Review, Annual Risk Assessment (ARA), assembling holistic data packs covering PRCM completeness, thematic review outputs, and CRM history.
- Coordinate reporting logistics, compile presentation decks, track attendee participation, document meeting minutes, and log GAU Owner sign-offs in CRC within required timelines.
