The role

We are seeking a motivated and organised Senior Transport Officer to join our team for a one-year fixed-term period, supporting the ongoing development and delivery of our transport service.

This is a varied and rewarding opportunity to contribute across both the delivery and eligibility elements of the service, providing essential operational support while helping to shape future arrangements.

The role will involve supporting data-related activities, progressing the transfer of the application process onto the current system, and undertaking key Senior Transport Officer responsibilities, including bus monitoring and supporting the wider team with day-to-day service delivery.

You will also play an important role in preparing for the 2027 tendering process, helping to ensure that the service is well-positioned for future requirements.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and able to work flexibly across a range of tasks, balancing operational priorities with project-based work. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues will be essential.

About the opportunity

  • One-year fixed-term appointment.
  • Part-time working options will be considered.
  • The role may be available as a secondment, subject to agreement with your current team manager.
  • A varied workload covering service delivery, eligibility, data, systems development and future tender preparation.

This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience, contribute to service improvements and support the team in delivering an effective and responsive transport service.
