Job Title: Assistant Qualification Designer
Salary: £30,800 - £40,100 per annum
The role
Would you like to help shape accessible, high-quality qualifications and tests for learners around the world?
We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.
This is an opportunity to join our collaborative and supportive Qualifications & Test Development team within Cambridge International. We review and develop qualifications for learners aged 3-19, bringing colleagues together to improve educational products and experiences.
As an Assistant Qualification Designer, you will contribute your experience while developing your skills across a varied role. Working with guidance from experienced colleagues, you will support the design, development and review of qualifications and tests, helping turn evidence and ideas into high-quality, accessible assessment materials.
What you'll do
You will provide hands-on support across qualification development, from preparing sample assessment materials and teacher support resources, to gathering feedback and maintaining accurate project records. Following agreed frameworks and guidance, you will help deliver materials on time and to quality standards.
How you'll work
Location: Cambridge - Hybrid. At least 2 days per week in the office.
Contract: Fixed Term/Secondment maternity cover until January 2028
Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)
In this role, you will
- Support qualification redevelopment activity, maintaining accurate records, schedules, and documentation.
- Gather stakeholder feedback and support research and evaluation to improve qualifications and assessment materials.
- Support internal working groups and meetings by preparing materials, taking notes and following up actions.
This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.
About You
You'll bring experience in teaching and learning, or in supporting the development of qualifications, assessments or educational products, alongside a genuine interest in international education. You'll also be educated to A level or equivalent.
You'll be able to demonstrate
- Experience of organising work effectively, maintaining accuracy and working to agreed requirements or timelines.
- Experience of analysing information and applying evidence or guidance to your work.
- Effective written communication skills, with experience of communicating information clearly to others.
- Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues or other stakeholders.
- Experience of contributing to accessible, inclusive or high-quality educational products or ways of working.
