Are you an experienced housekeeping or domestic services professional who is ready to take the next step into a visible team leadership role? We are looking for a motivated and organised Housekeeping / Domestic Team Leader to support the delivery of high-quality cleanliness, housekeeping and patient meal service standards across Moseley Hall Hospital and West Heath Hospital.
Working closely with, and deputising for, the Band 5 Housekeeping Manager, you will help coordinate day-to-day domestic and housekeeping services, support staff allocation, monitor standards and provide practical leadership to ensure safe, clean and welcoming environments for patients, visitors and colleagues.
Joining our Housekeeping and Domestic Services team gives you the opportunity to make a real difference every day. You will be part of a supportive, patient-focused service where high standards of cleanliness, teamwork and care are valued. This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop their supervisory skills, take on more responsibility and help shape safe, clean and welcoming environments for patients, visitors and staff.
You will play a key role within the housekeeping and domestic services team. You will support the Housekeeping Manager in the effective coordination of services, helping to ensure that cleaning schedules, patient meal service requirements, safe staffing levels and quality standards are maintained across the sites.
You will provide visible, hands-on leadership to domestic and housekeeping staff, supporting daily operational priorities, responding to service issues and helping the team deliver a responsive patient-focused service seven days per week. In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, you will deputise as required, escalating risks and issues appropriately while maintaining service continuity.
Key responsibilities include:
· Supervising, supporting and motivating domestic and housekeeping staff to deliver safe, effective and high-quality services.
· Supporting compliance with NHS Cleanliness Standards, infection prevention requirements, food service standards and local operating procedures.
· Coordinating daily work allocations, rotas, cleaning schedules and service priorities to maintain business continuity.
· Undertaking quality checks, supporting audit activity and helping to address areas for improvement in cleanliness and patient meal service delivery.
· Deputising for the Housekeeping Manager when required, including supporting staff queries, resolving day-to-day issues and escalating concerns appropriately.
