PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Deal Management team plays a business-critical role in accurately processing sales contracts and deal memos into Rightsline, ensuring rights, terms, content, and financial data are correctly maintained. Working closely with Sales, Legal, and Finance, the role supports deal updates, amendments, cancellations, and customer records, enabling invoicing, revenue recognition, reporting, and rights management. Success is measured by the timely and accurate handling of high-volume workloads, particularly during peak business periods.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

The Deal Management team plays a key role in supporting BBC Studios' global distribution business. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of licensing, distribution and content agreements, develop specialist rights and contract management expertise, and build relationships across multiple teams in an international media business.

• Review and interpret sales contracts and deal terms, ensuring accurate and timely processing in Rightsline while resolving any rights conflicts.
• Maintain and update deal records, including digital deals, event-based changes, amendments, cancellations, customer accounts, and account information.
• Provide operational support and reporting, responding to deal and invoice queries and producing reports as required.
• Support system and data improvement activities, including data cleansing, system enhancements, ad hoc projects, and process validation.
• Develop expertise in the end-to-end sales process, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and helping to optimise workflows and data accuracy.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage large volumes of data, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong IT and analytical skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), with the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both oral and written, able to build effective relationships and work confidently with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Proactive, self-motivated team player who uses initiative, anticipates issues, collaborates effectively, and works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in administration, data management, and process coordination, with the ability to work accurately under pressure; media, rights management, or contract interpretation experience is advantageous.

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Understanding of the media landscape.
  • Knowledge or understanding of Rightsline, the sales and rights systems, is an advantage; full training provided.
  • Experience or study in administration or data management; preferably in a media and/or metadata environment.
  • Experience of liaising with internal and external parties to complete tasks accurately to deadline.
  • Experience in assessing, understanding and interpreting media contracts.
