As a Year in Industry - Quantity Surveyor, You'll join our Year in Industry Placement Programme and gain hands-on experience while contributing to some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. From day one, you'll take on real responsibility, develop technical and professional skills, and work alongside experienced colleagues who will support your growth. Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and project teams, you'll develop your understanding of cost control, procurement, contract management, forecasting, and commercial performance while contributing to live project activities.
During your placement, you'll take on meaningful responsibilities that provide first-hand experience of how projects are managed from a commercial perspective and how Quantity Surveyors help deliver successful project outcomes.
You'll get exposure to:
• Supporting the management and control of project costs throughout the project lifecycle
• Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting, valuations, and financial performance monitoring
• Preparing and maintaining commercial records, contract documentation, and project cost information
• Supporting subcontract procurement activities, including tendering, quotation analysis, and subcontract administration
