The role

At Balfour Beatty, we're proud to be playing a key role in delivering some of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects. Our Regional Civils business is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team working on the landmark Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project in Redcar.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a major project that is helping to shape the future of the UK's energy sector. NZT is set to become the world's first gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage, supporting the transition towards a lower-carbon future. Working alongside our project team, you'll play an important role in ensuring the successful commercial delivery of this high-profile scheme.

As Quantity Surveyor, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of your allocated project areas, working closely with the wider delivery team to ensure costs are effectively controlled and commercial opportunities are maximised.

What you'll do

As a Quantity Surveyor your will:

  • Managing subcontractor procurement, including the preparation, negotiation and administration of subcontract agreements.

  • Monitoring project costs, identifying commercial risks and opportunities, and implementing appropriate control measures.

  • Supporting the preparation of monthly CVRs and forecasts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Managing contractual correspondence and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of contracts.

  • Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team.

  • Working collaboratively with operational colleagues to support the successful commercial and financial performance of the project.
