Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Qualification: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration.
  • Experience: Experience working with children and young people experiencing severe emotional, behavioural, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Experience of working with young people who rely on self-harm and suicide behaviours.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of attachment theory, developmental trauma, and therapeutic childcare models.
  • Full driving licence and DBS

The role

We are looking to add a Mental Health Nurse to our team to provide high-quality care, support, and therapeutic strategies to children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. You will work alongside an in-house psychotherapist to provide a well rounded holistic, therapeutic environment.

What you'll do

  • Facilitate and complete mental health assessments and collaboratively develop, implement, and review evidence-based care plans, ensuring they are regularly updated and reflect the child's changing needs.
  • Model best practice in trauma-responsive care, helping the staff to understand and manage young people's emotions rather than focusing solely on behaviour management.
  • Safely manage, administer, and monitor medication, observing for side effects and reporting on responses to treatment, while adhering to NMC standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the in-house therapist, providing guidance, advice, and reflective spaces to residential staff when managing and responding to challenging behaviour.
  • Establish trusting, therapeutic relationships with young people to encourage engagement.
  • Creating a Safe Environment: Facilitate a nurturing, stable environment where young people feel safe and can build trust, focusing on trauma responsive care in line with the therapeutic model and framework of Aspris.

What we can provide for you

  • Paid for enhanced DBS
  • Healthcare cash plan, wellbeing support and loans
  • An exclusive rewards and benefits platform
  • High-street and online discounts through Blue Light Card
  • Cycle to work scheme and gym membership
  • Refer a friend bonus scheme
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Hours that suit your lifestyle
