Senior Associate - Professional Negligence

We are hiring for a Senior Associate - Professional Negligence within our Bristol office of Arag. The role will be on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 2 days per week office attendance.

As a Senior Associate - Professional Negligence, you will be working in a team aligned with your area of expertise. An experienced litigator you will have extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of court litigation from inception to trial in addition to resolving cases by mediation and other forms of alternative dispute's resolution. Expertise in handling a caseload of professional negligence, misrepresentation and or failed litigation matters is essential.

You will be responsible for running an autonomous caseload, working closely with other Senior Associates and Principal Associates ensuring our customers receive the highest standard of services whilst ensuring the efficient management of caseloads.

You will be able to demonstrate a track record of compliance with SLA's, MI, management of cases through to outcome in line with customer, regulatory and business expectations.

You will be responsible for ensuring that legal work is supervised in accordance with the ARAG Law Supervision Policy at all times, whilst running a small caseload of legal matters.

• Play an active role in the department to create a culture where we are seen as an employer of choice, internally and the external market.
• Share knowledge and best practice with team members and the wider management group;
• Work closely with Principal Associates to deliver on SLA's, KPI's, financial and performance targets as set by the Head of Department to drive efficiency, performance, billing and throughput within the team.
• Managing a caseload of complex of cases in line with expectations ensuring disputes are resolved in a commercial manner via courts, mediation or ADR techniques.
• Ensure the early assessment of the prospects of success of each claim and that the claim is handled throughout in accordance with the requirements of our client's legal expenses insurance policy.
• Ensure cases are managed in a cost effective manner by maintaining grip on cost at all times.
• Drive a culture of effective and efficient case handling, whilst maintaining a focus on the good customer outcome for each individual client;
• Be responsible for ensuring customers receive the best level of care and advice at all times and where necessary investigating and responding to complaints or escalating where appropriate
