The role
Estate Services Officer
Housing Services Team | East London
Are you someone who enjoys building positive relationships, solving problems, and making a visible difference within local communities?
We are recruiting for an Estate Services Officer to join a busy housing services team responsible for supporting the management and improvement of residential estates across East London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in housing and estate management, or for somebody with transferable experience from sectors such as facilities management, property management, customer service, neighbourhood services, hospitality, retail management, or other customer-facing environments.
The Role
As an Estate Services Officer, you will become a key point of contact for residents, contractors, and colleagues, helping to ensure estates remain safe, clean, well-maintained, and welcoming places to live.
The role combines office-based administration with regular visits to local estates, carrying out inspections, identifying issues, supporting contractors, and engaging with residents. Most estates are within walking distance of the office, and site inspections are often undertaken alongside colleagues.
This is a varied position offering an opportunity to gain valuable experience within housing services while playing an important role in supporting local communities.
Key Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Carry out regular estate and block inspections.
- Build positive relationships with residents and act as a visible and approachable point of contact.
- Respond to resident enquiries and service requests in a professional and customer-focused manner.
- Monitor the quality of estate services, including cleaning, grounds maintenance, and waste management.
- Identify and report issues requiring attention and follow them through to resolution.
- Liaise with contractors and colleagues to ensure service standards are maintained.
- Help investigate and resolve estate-related concerns, including environmental issues.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
- Support estate improvement initiatives and resident engagement activities.
How you'll work
Full-Time (3-5 Days per in the office, with regular paired estate walkarounds required)
