What you'll do

  • Finance Systems Architecture: Develop, maintain, and govern the target-state Finance Systems Architecture across all Finance applications, ensuring alignment with the Group's Digital Finance Strategy, Enterprise Architecture standards, and long-term technology roadmap
  • Integration Architecture: Design and govern system integrations between Oracle R12 (Voyager and Orbis), OneStream, Kyriba, Emburse, Neeyamo, BlackLine, Supplier Master Data, Azolve (invoice automation), Payroll Benefits, Oracle Time & Labour, Aveva ERM, and other finance-related applications. Ensure reliable, secure, resilient, and efficient data flows across the application landscape
  • End-to-End Process Design: Ensure Finance processes are designed holistically across Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Project Accounting, Treasury, Payroll, Tax, Statutory, Management, and Enterprise Performance Management Reporting, eliminating unnecessary manual intervention and process duplication
  • Data Architecture & Master Data: Define and govern Finance data architecture, including ownership, quality standards, reference data, Chart of Accounts, Supplier Master Data, organisational structures, and common data definitions. Ensure the integrity and consistency of master data across all Finance applications
  • Financial Integrity & Controls: Design solutions that preserve the integrity, completeness, and auditability of financial data across all system interfaces, ensuring appropriate controls, reconciliation processes, and segregation of duties
  • Architecture Governance: Establish architecture principles, standards, design patterns, and review processes across all Finance technology projects. Review, modify, and approve solution designs produced by implementation partners and internal teams to ensure compliance with agreed standards
  • Automation & Simplification: Identify opportunities to simplify Finance processes through automation, workflow optimisation, standardisation, and elimination of non-value-adding activities, reducing operational effort while improving control, data quality, and speed
  • Technology Standards: Ensure all Finance solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and maintainable, minimising customisation wherever practical and promoting configuration over bespoke development
  • Implementation Assurance: Provide architectural leadership throughout programme delivery, ensuring solution designs are effectively translated into implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support
  • Vendor & Systems Integrator Management: Provide technical oversight of implementation partners and software vendors, challenging solution proposals where appropriate and ensuring delivery aligns with the Group's architectural standards, commercial objectives, and long-term operating model
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure Finance Systems Architecture supports evolving regulatory requirements, including Making Tax Digital, e-Invoicing, statutory reporting, audit requirements, information security, and data governance
  • Roadmap Development: Maintain a multi-year Finance Systems roadmap, identifying future enhancements, technical debt reduction opportunities, platform optimisation initiatives, and emerging technologies that support the Group's strategic objectives. Define a clear framework for Finance application governance, rationalisation, and investment prioritisation
  • Cyber Security: Work with Cyber Security colleagues to identify and mitigate cyber risks across the Finance application suite
  • Service Transition & Operational Readiness: Ensure the Finance Systems Architecture is fully documented, understood, and successfully transitioned to the Group's managed services partner, enabling effective application support, incident resolution, change management, and ongoing operational stability
