Accountant

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified through significant relevant experience.
• Strong experience of producing monthly management accounting information, controls, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Strong IT and systems skills, including experience of finance systems and reporting tools.

• Experience within the construction, contracting, engineering, or project-based sectors.
• Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting processes.
• Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior finance colleagues.

Willmott Dixon are looking for a proactive and commercially minded accountant to join our Finance team on 12-month fixed term contract. This is a great opportunity for a qualified or qualified by experience accountant to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality management accounting information, financial controls, and continuous improvement.

Working closely with our regional businesses, you'll play a key role in supporting financial reporting, statutory compliance, and business decision-making while helping to shape and enhance our finance processes and systems.

• Support the production of accurate and timely monthly accounting information across the region you're responsible for.
• Assist in maintaining strong financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes to ensure the integrity of financial information.
• Help ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and taxation requirements, including FRS 102, VAT, PAYE, NIC, CIS, and Corporation Tax.
• Provide clear, accurate, and commercially focused financial information to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Contribute to quarterly reporting, year-end audits, and statutory submissions.
• Build strong working relationships with finance and operational teams, providing professional support and financial insight.
• Support and mentor junior team members, helping to develop skills and encourage collaboration.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, controls, processes, and reporting capabilities.
• Take ownership of your work, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, proactively, and within agreed deadlines.
• Act as a trusted and reliable member of the Finance team, delivering professional support across the business.
• Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
