About the role-

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Senior Administrator to join the Research & Innovation (R&I) Communications and Business Support Team. This varied role provides essential administrative, financial, operational and Health & Safety support across the R&I Division.

No two days are the same. You will coordinate staff onboarding and offboarding, manage IT equipment allocation, support procurement and finance processes, and act as a key point of contact for Health & Safety activities. You will also play an important role in supporting compliance reporting, statutory training, risk assessment processes and continuous improvement initiatives that help enhance services across the Division.

About the team- The Communications and Business Support Team provides professional business support services to colleagues across Research & Innovation (R&I). We work collaboratively with stakeholders across the University, including central services, operational teams and senior colleagues, to deliver efficient, focused support that enables R&I to achieve its objectives.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where different perspectives, experiences and backgrounds are valued and where everyone can thrive and contribute.

About you- We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • High levels of IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience of working independently to resolve queries and deliver excellent customer service.
  • A flexible, proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Experience of finance, procurement or Health & Safety administration would be advantageous.

What we offer-

  • A friendly, diverse and supportive working environment.
  • A hybrid working arrangement with a blend of home and campus-based working.
  • Generous holiday entitlement of 27 days per year, plus bank holidays and University closure days.
  • Access to reward and recognition schemes.
  • Ongoing training, development and career progression opportunities.
  • Access to a wide range of benefits including fitness and health facilities, staff discounts, travel schemes and more.
