The John Roan School - United Learning
Thank you for your interest in working at The John Roan School. We are a large mixed secondary school which joined the United Learning group of schools in September 2019 and, supported by the expertise and guidance that has brought us, are rapidly improving outcomes for students. Ofsted graded us as a 'Good' school in October 2023 and as we continue our school improvement programme, we are looking for people who share our values and passionately believe that all children can achieve, no matter what their starting point, background or needs.
We serve more than 64,000 pupils and support around 10,000 staff in our schools, and we offer a growing range of additional services, including teacher training, professional development programmes, and a full curriculum package for schools. Everything that we do is geared towards improving life outcomes for young people. 'We also believe in offering our staff 'more pay, more time and more support'.
Support staff who are working directly with students and are without A-Levels, a degree or a relevant Level 3 for the role; will be required to enrol on the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship once appointed. We will support you to gain this qualification as part of our commitment to staff development and improving student outcomes.
