About the role

As a Post Office Counter Clerk, you'll help customers access the services they need, from sending mail and managing important documents to travel money and everyday banking services. You'll make each interaction friendly, helpful and straightforward, while ensuring transactions are handled accurately and in line with the required procedures.

We pay in line with UK age-related minimum and living wage rates, so your pay will depend on your age group:

16-18 years: £8.00 per hour

18-20 years: £10.85 per hour

21+ years: £12.71 per hour

To be employed in this role, you must be over the age of 18 and complete a safeguarding check.

3-Day Post Office Counter Training: Covers introduction, processes, practical skills and systems. Training may take place at a different location, so flexibility is required.

Welcome every customer. Be approachable, friendly and ready to help, creating a positive experience at the counter.

Provide helpful service. Listen to customers, understand what they need and guide them through the appropriate Post Office services.

Work accurately and responsibly. Follow processes carefully, pay attention to detail and maintain high standards of governance and compliance.

Keep service running smoothly. Help manage queues and support customers efficiently, while taking the time to get things right.

Learn and use our systems. Complete the required training and build the practical skills and confidence needed to deliver Post Office services.

Be a great teammate. Communicate with colleagues, share information and work together to deliver a helpful, consistent customer experience.
