Senior Mechanical Engineer - Water Sector in Leeds

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Water team in Newcastle or Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to work on nationally significant infrastructure projects while developing your technical expertise within one of the UK's leading multidisciplinary consultancies. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers, project teams and industry specialists to deliver innovative mechanical engineering solutions across a wide range of treatment and infrastructure projects.

Working with us, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Deliver mechanical engineering solutions across major water and wastewater programmes.
• Take ownership of design packages throughout the project lifecycle.
• Share your technical knowledge by supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
• Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable engineering outcomes.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects, supporting successful project delivery from concept through to construction.

• Producing mechanical designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and associated infrastructure.
• Preparing and reviewing technical calculations, equipment specifications and engineering documentation.
• Working collaboratively with Project Managers, multidisciplinary teams and clients throughout project delivery.
• Supporting technical reviews and identifying opportunities to improve engineering solutions.
• Providing guidance and mentoring to early career engineers and graduates.
• Contributing to the successful delivery of projects through effective communication with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Your work will help deliver reliable, sustainable water infrastructure that improves operational performance, protects the environment and supports the long-term needs of communities across the UK. Through innovative mechanical engineering solutions, you'll contribute to projects that improve efficiency, resilience and asset performance for our clients.

You'll also help strengthen our Mechanical Engineering team by sharing technical expertise, supporting the development of colleagues and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
