You'll help support UK water companies as they develop wastewater solutions that enable growth, improve local environments, reduce spills and improve final effluent quality. This will give you valuable experience on projects that make a real difference to communities and the environment.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll receive training in industry software and modelling tools, helping you build the technical skills and confidence needed for a career in civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn how to identify practical and sustainable design solutions for wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.

  • Support design work using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other industry software.

  • Assist with engineering activities from feasibility through to construction, including calculations and analysis.

  • Develop your understanding of project risks and how teams manage them safely and effectively.

  • Help prepare reports, presentations, bids and proposals.

  • Work alongside experienced engineers and wider project teams to build your civil engineering knowledge.

  • Attend meetings and workshops with clients and colleagues, where appropriate, to learn how projects are planned and delivered.

At Stantec, we offer a high-energy environment that balances fully funded academic study with hands-on, real-world project experience. You will gain a Level 6 BEng Civil Engineering degree in conjunction with our Training Provider(s). This will be discussed further during the recruitment process. For this role, training providers could include;

  • Queens University Belfast (day release)

To help you feel supported and connected during your apprenticeship, you'll spend four days a week working from the office alongside your colleagues.
