What we're looking for

  • Content Design experience within complex transformation or service improvement programmes.
  • Experience leading content audits, discovery work and assessments across large organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of content strategy, governance and content operations.
  • Ability to apply user-centred design principles and accessibility standards.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Experience working in agile teams alongside Service Designers, User Researchers and Delivery Managers.

Nice to have

  • Public sector or GOV.UK experience.
  • Experience supporting transformation involving multiple services and stakeholder groups.

The role

SR2 is recruiting experienced Content Designers to support a major public sector transformation programme. This is an opportunity to shape how a complex organisation creates, manages and delivers content across its services.

Working closely with Service Design and programme colleagues, you'll investigate the existing content landscape and recommend improvements. Your work will help teams deliver clearer, more accessible information while establishing practical standards, ownership and processes for managing content over time.

What you'll do

  • Audit content across services and channels, highlighting gaps, duplication, unclear ownership and risks.
  • Recommend improvements to content organisation, navigation and usability, supported by evidence.
  • Develop a content strategy that connects user needs with programme priorities.
  • Define ownership, approval processes and version control arrangements.
  • Create standards and working practices that improve consistency across online and offline communications.
  • Facilitate workshops and work with multidisciplinary teams to agree priorities and next steps.

  • IR35 Status: Outside IR35
  • Rate: £400-£425
  • Location: Scotland-based
