Freelance Community Manager

We're looking for an experienced Community Manager to join a leading agency, supporting a brand's day-to-day social presence and building meaningful connections with its audience.

You'll manage conversations across social channels, respond to audience queries and spot opportunities for timely engagement. Working closely with social, creative and account teams, you'll help maintain a consistent brand voice and bring audience insights into content planning.

Key details

• Rate: £250/day, outside IR35

• Contract: One month initially, with a view to extend

• Commitment: Full-time

• Location: Hybrid, with three days a week in the office

The role

• Monitor and manage comments, direct messages and brand mentions across social platforms.

• Respond to questions and feedback in line with brand tone of voice and agreed guidelines.

• Identify relevant trends and conversations, suggesting opportunities for reactive engagement.

• Flag sensitive issues and escalate customer queries or reputational concerns appropriately.

• Work with social and creative teams to support content publishing and community activity.

• Track engagement, sentiment and recurring audience themes, sharing insights and recommendations with the wider team.

• Keep community trackers and reports accurate and up to date.

Experience required

• Previous community management experience, ideally within an agency.

• Strong understanding of social platforms and online audience behaviour.

• Excellent copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt to different brand voices.

• Confidence handling sensitive conversations and following escalation processes.

• Strong organisation and attention to detail across busy social channels.

• Experience using social management and listening tools is an advantage.
