Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Speedy Hire is the UK's leading provider of tools, specialist equipment and support services, with a reputation for delivering exceptional customer service.

At Speedy, we're proud of our people and the difference they make every day. Whether supporting customers, working with colleagues or finding solutions to challenges, our teams are at the heart of everything we do.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hire and Sales Coordinator to join our busy team based in Haydock.

As a Hire and Sales Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting our customers, managing hire enquiries and identifying opportunities to grow our business through excellent service and proactive sales activity.

You'll be responsible for building strong relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their requirements and ensuring they receive the right equipment and solutions to meet their needs.

Working closely with our sales, hire and operational teams, you'll help ensure the smooth running of our hire processes while maximising sales opportunities and delivering a first-class customer experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has a commercial mindset and thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment.

  • Managing customer hire enquiries, bookings, extensions and off-hires.

  • Providing excellent customer service by telephone, email and through our internal systems.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.

  • Proactively identifying sales opportunities and promoting Speedy's products and services.

  • Preparing quotations, processing hire orders and ensuring documentation is completed accurately.

  • Working closely with depots, transport and operational teams to coordinate equipment availability, deliveries and collections.

  • Following up on quotations and customer enquiries to maximise sales conversions.

  • Supporting customer retention by maintaining regular contact and understanding future hire requirements.

  • Identifying opportunities to increase revenue through additional hire products and services.

  • Resolving customer queries promptly and professionally.

  • Maintaining accurate customer records and updating internal systems.

  • Supporting the wider team to achieve sales targets, service levels and operational objectives.

  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and promoting safe working practices.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales administration, hire desk or a similar customer-facing role.

  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with customers and colleagues.

  • A proactive, positive and customer-focused approach.

  • Good commercial awareness and the confidence to identify sales opportunities.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Experience handling customer enquiries, preparing quotations or processing orders.

  • Good IT skills and confidence using customer management systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and a solutions-focused mindset.

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.

  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Experience within the plant, tool or equipment hire industry would be beneficial, but isn't essential. We're just as interested in your customer service skills, sales ability and enthusiasm to succeed.

At Speedy Hire, we believe our people are our biggest asset, and we're committed to supporting your development and rewarding your contribution.

Our benefits include:

  • Competitive salary

  • 26 days' annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Life assurance

  • Pension scheme

  • Employee assistance programme

  • Access to our employee benefits and discount platform

  • Training, development and career progression opportunities

  • A supportive team environment where your contribution is valued

If you're passionate about customer service, enjoy building relationships and have a flair for sales, we'd love to hear from you.

Whether you're experienced in the hire industry or looking to bring your customer service and sales skills into a new environment, this could be the opportunity for you.

Apply today and take the next step in your career with Speedy Hire!
