The role

We are committed to improving diversity and inclusion across our organisation. Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and the Global Majority are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single specification. If you're excited about the role but your experience or qualifications don't perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway. We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups such as the global majority, LGBTQA+, those from a working-class background, those with a disability and neurodiverse conditions.

The role

Shakespeare's Globe has established a strengthened capital leadership structure to manage a portfolio of three major capital projects over the next three years. This role will be employed directly by the organisation to provide client-side delivery control for two c.£1m-scale projects:

  • the Globe Education and Rehearsal Studios refurbishment and step-change project (GERS)
  • the Non-R&C structural defects remediation project (Structural Defects)

Responsibility for the Replacing the Roof project will remain under the leadership of the Capital Project Director, who retains overall responsibility for its delivery.

The post is fully funded through donor funding that has been specifically restricted to the GERS and Structural Defects projects. As a result, the role is dedicated exclusively to the successful delivery of these two capital projects and does not support other organisational activities.

Further information on the role can be found in the attached job description.

Contract: Fixed term for 18 months, with the potential to extend subject to funding and a contract review

Salary: £competitive

FTE: Part-time, 0.4 FTE

Shakespeare's Globe

We are an independent charity and commercial operator, reborn with fresh fire in the wake of the pandemic - re-energised, re-inspired, and ready to meet the future head-on. Unlike many in our field, we work without public subsidy, without regular support from Arts Council England. Instead, we stand on our own forging surpluses through our own creativity and courage, pouring every surplus back into the lifeblood of The Shakespeare's Globe Trust, our registered educational and artistic charity.

Artistic productions are our beating heart - the pulse that keeps the Globe alive. Every year, more than 750,000 visitors cross our threshold on Bankside, drawn to over 600 performances, Guided Tours, schools workshops and events across 363 days. From dawn until long past dusk, especially for our popular Midnight Matinees, our stages ring with laughter, tears, and the timeless power of words.

Benefits

  • Discount in the Globe shop and onsite restaurants/cafes
  • Staff discounts via My Globe perks and better Bankside Buzzcard
