ABOUT THE COMPANY

We're working with a well-established, leading UK retail business looking for an experienced Head of Strategy, Architecture andamp; Data to join its technology leadership team.

This is an opportunity to shape the organisation's long-term technology direction, lead enterprise architecture and data strategy, and drive significant transformation across a complex technology environment.

You'll work closely with senior leadership to ensure technology investment, architecture and innovation align with wider business objectives.

THE ROLE

As Head of Strategy, Architecture andamp; Data, you'll take ownership of the organisation's technology and data strategy, leading a team of senior architecture and technology professionals.

You'll be responsible for establishing technology roadmaps, modernising existing systems and ensuring the business has the right foundations to capitalise on AI, automation and emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities include

• Own and develop the overall technology strategy, architecture vision and long-term roadmaps.

• Lead enterprise architecture across applications, infrastructure, integrations, data and security.

• Drive data strategy, governance, architecture and modernisation initiatives.

• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation and emerging technologies.

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of enterprise, domain, data and security architects.

• Establish architecture standards, governance frameworks and best practices.

• Reduce technical debt, simplify legacy systems and support large-scale technology transformation.

• Work closely with senior stakeholders to influence strategic technology investments and decisions.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Extensive senior leadership experience across enterprise architecture, technology strategy and data.

• Proven experience developing and delivering enterprise-wide technology strategies and roadmaps.

• Strong enterprise architecture background, including leadership of architecture teams.

• Experience driving significant technology and data transformation programmes.

• Strong understanding of data architecture, governance and modern data platforms.

• Broad knowledge of cloud, infrastructure, applications, integrations and cybersecurity.

• Understanding of AI, automation and their practical application within enterprise environments.

• Experience working within complex, product-led or agile technology organisations.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.

• Previous experience within retail, ecommerce, fashion or omnichannel environments would be advantageous.
