Help us create a better future, quicker

As a Performance Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial performance of one of the UK's leading energy businesses, supplying around 4.5 million residential and business customers. Working within a dynamic and evolving market, you'll provide insight and challenge that helps drive informed decision-making, improve business performance and support the delivery of strategic objectives. You'll have the opportunity to influence outcomes across a wide range of business activities while working alongside finance and operational teams throughout the organisation.

What you'll be doing

You'll support the preparation of monthly results, forecasts, budgets and long-term plans while providing detailed analysis and commentary on financial and operational performance. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities and help drive improved outcomes through practical recommendations.

You'll provide clear reporting and performance insight to management and senior finance leaders, ensuring financial implications are understood and considered in decision-making. And you'll help maintain strong governance over budgets, spend commitments and financial controls while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a qualified Accountant with strong analytical and commercial awareness who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You'll be comfortable handling large volumes of complex data and turning that information into meaningful insight that supports decision-making.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial performance reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and deliver against challenging deadlines.
  • Experience of financial controls, governance and spend management processes.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with a focus on continuous improvement.

What's in it for you?

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

  • 36 days annual leave
  • Holiday Purchase Scheme
  • Double-matched pension contributions up to 10%
  • Share Schemes
  • Payroll Giving and Charity Matched Funding
  • Technology Vouchers
  • Electric Vehicle Schemes
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Public Transport Season Ticket Loans
  • Healthcare options including Private Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance and Health Cash Plans
  • Life Assurance (4x salary)
  • Financial wellbeing support
  • Shopping, leisure and gym discounts
