Senior Building Control Surveyor

This an exciting opportunity to join Runnymede Borough Council as we continue to develop our Building Control team.

We are looking for a committed and professionally competent Registered Building Inspector to join our Building Control team. You will help protect the health, safety, sustainability, energy conservation and accessibility of people in and around buildings across the borough, undertaking all aspects of the Building Control function on behalf of the council.

In this role, you will examine plans, carry out site inspections, maintain accurate records, attend dangerous structure call outs during working hours and ensure compliance with the Building Regulations on site. You will work closely with residents, contractors, architects and partner agencies, offering a professional, solution‑focused service while upholding the Building Safety Regulator's Operational Standards Rules and Code of Conduct.

This is a flexible role combining office, home and site‑based working within a supportive team. You will contribute to service development, build strong customer relationships and aid delivery of Runnymede's Building Control service.
