What we're looking for

To be considered for this role, you will combine strong and substantial Ecommerce or digital product management experience in a commercial, customer-facing environment, with responsibility for digital platforms, systems, integrations and tooling.

You will have a proven track record of managing roadmaps, backlogs and the full product lifecycle, using data and testing to improve ecommerce conversion, customer experience and revenue. You will understand the customer journey, from merchandising and checkout to CRM, email and SEO, and will be digitally fluent without needing to be a developer.

With excellent stakeholder management, analytical thinking and supplier management skills, you will be confident working with technical teams and external agencies, able to define requirements and acceptance criteria and comfortable using performance data, customer insight and testing to prioritise improvements that deliver measurable commercial impact.

The role

The Royal Academy of Arts is currently seeking to appoint a Digital Product Manager to join our Retail team. This newly created role will have dedicated product ownership of RA Retail’s digital product estate, with Ecommerce as the primary area of focus.

The Digital Product Manager will explicitly own the Ecommerce platform and roadmap, alongside the wider suite of Retail digital products, including the Retail ERP solution, integrations with the RA’s CRM Tessitura and the tooling used to support trading, analytics, testing, customer insight and release activity.

This role will ensure these platforms and integrations are stable, secure, well governed and set up to support sustainable revenue growth.

About the company & team

The RA dates way back to 1768 when a group of artists and architects persuaded King George lll to help them to ‘establish a society for promoting the Art of Design'. The original academy, in Pall Mall, was less than 10 meters long. Since then, there have been many changes, though the RA’s core purpose of bringing art and design to a broad audience and championing art and artists still holds true.

Today we are a contemporary art organisation hosting internationally acclaimed exhibitions and through investment in employee training and development, with courses such as Unconscious Bias, LGBTQ+ Awareness, Bystander, and Mental Health First Aid training, we are striving to foster a safe space for everyone through positive action. We also have Employee Network Groups, Ways In Groups, and an Employee Council so every employee has a voice and a way to feel heard by colleagues through the CEO.

The RA is truly a unique place, both as an attraction to our visitors, but also as a workplace. Our people are at the heart of all we do, and we support a broad and inspiring mix of departments; from exhibitions, curators, art handlers, researchers, publishers, and digital to schools and education, visitor welcome, fundraisers, and corporate support.
