Join a New Hydrographic and Geospatial Team

We're building a new Hydrographic and Geospatial team and are looking for a Geospatial Surveyor - Hydrographic Specialist to help shape its future.

This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist team within Ridge, one of the UK's leading multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancies. You'll work on a wide range of hydrographic and geospatial projects, helping to develop our service offering while building your own technical expertise and career.

You'll play an important role in expanding our hydrographic and geospatial capabilities, working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment. If you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact, take ownership of projects and contribute to the growth of a new team, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Carry out inshore hydrographic surveys across a variety of projects.
  • Lead hydrographic survey projects from planning through to delivery.
  • Work directly with clients and build effective working relationships.
  • Process, analyse and interpret hydrographic and geospatial survey data.
  • Produce accurate drawings, models and deliverables using AutoCAD and specialist survey software.
  • Work with bathymetric and channel survey datasets, producing outputs that meet Environment Agency standards.
  • Operate survey equipment including Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers, total stations and echo sounders.
  • Support the growth of our hydrographic service offering.
  • Share knowledge and support the development of colleagues within the team.
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients.
  • Collaborate with teams across Ridge to deliver successful project outcomes.

Working Arrangements

You'll split your time between the office and project sites. The role includes regular travel to sites across the UK and occasional overnight stays. Depending on project requirements, you may occasionally need to work outside normal working hours.

What We're Looking For

You'll have previous surveying experience and a strong interest in hydrographic and geospatial surveying.

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Inshore channel and bathymetric surveys.
  • Producing survey deliverables using AutoCAD.
  • Working to Environment Agency survey specifications and standards.
  • Processing and interpreting survey data.

You'll also have

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Confidence working in and around water environments and the ability to swim.

Professional accreditation with the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) would be beneficial but is not essential.
