You'll split your time between our Birmingham office and client sites across the UK, giving you exposure to a broad variety of buildings, sectors and project types.

About the Team

You'll join a growing building surveying team that supports several key client accounts with national property portfolios.

From day one, you'll work closely with experienced colleagues and provide technical advice to well-known clients across a range of sectors. As the team continues to expand, you'll have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, including mentoring junior colleagues and helping to coordinate project delivery.

As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you'll

  • Build and develop project briefs alongside clients and senior colleagues
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Support business development activities and help identify new opportunities
  • Prepare designs, specifications and tender documentation
  • Administer Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) building contracts
  • Carry out a wide range of professional surveying services, including:
    • Condition surveys
    • Defect investigations
    • Party wall matters
    • Dilapidations advice
    • Reinstatement cost assessments
  • Work closely with clients, contractors and colleagues across the business
  • Support the Team Leader with project financial management
  • Mentor and support junior members of the team as the business grows

To succeed in this role, you'll have

  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
  • Experience advising on commercial, retail or education sector properties within either the public or private sector
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience using NBS Chorus (desirable but not essential)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK when required
