Workday Integration Specialist

On behalf of The Department for Education we are looking for a Workday Integration Specialist (Inside IR35) for an initial 5 month contract. Hybrid working with 2 days per week in London, Manchester or Sheffield.

This role will sit in the Workday Development Team, reporting to the Senior Workday Analyst. The primary focus of this assignment will be setting up the Workday element of the Workday - ServiceNow integration, although the post holder may be asked to support other integration work strands.

The post holder will be required to liaise with Tech Group and the ESM project to understand their requirements, assess these against DfE's Workday tenant, advise on the security implications (reviewing the domain security policies and related security objects) before configuring the Workday element of the integration: creation of ISU(s), administering security assignments and providing XPATH values to Tech colleagues.

The post holder will be responsible for configuration and ensuring robust testing and issue resolution (and following the test/fix/retest cycle) before moving the solution to the live production environment.

An essential part of this role will be to ensure appropriate governance is maintained including release notes, test plans, creating the ISD and updating the existing overarching HLD

As a Workday Integration Specialist your main responsibilities will be to:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the organisation's Workday tenant, including the use of key business objects, data structures and HR data security requirements.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and gain a thorough understanding of organisational processes and ways of working.
• Lead requirements gathering activities and provide expert guidance on Workday capabilities and best practices.
• Analyse Enterprise Service Management (ESM) requirements and assess the impact on existing HR and Workday processes.
• Produce realistic delivery plans, timelines, and implementation roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security teams to complete security assessments and obtain the necessary approvals and assurances.
• Define and document Workday integration requirements, including High-Level Design (HLD) and Interface Specification Documentation (ISD).
• Conduct impact and security assessments for data exposed through the integration.
• Design, configure, and build the integration within the Workday implementation environment.

Essential

• Proven experience designing, building, configuring, and supporting Workday integrations.
• Strong understanding of Workday integration frameworks and best practices.
• Experience delivering integrations from requirements through to production deployment.
• Experience working with business stakeholders to balance security, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to act as the Workday subject matter expert within a project environment.
• Ability to create clear build documentation, release notes, HLDs, ISDs, and testing evidence.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation standards.
