Why this role matters
Passion and energy for the best possible results, day after day. As our QA Technician, you'll be an integral part of the Quality & Technical team at our Nuneaton Factory, helping ensure routine quality control, GMP and hygiene activities are completed to the highest standard.
You'll be an active, eyes-wide-open presence on site: spotting and reporting anything that could put product safety, quality or legality at risk, monitoring critical checks and helping the production team keep creating the brilliant snacks our consumers know and love. You understand people, care about producing brilliant food and bring the energy to positively influence standards across the site.
What you'll be doing
- Attend daily Tier 1 meetings, communicating clearly and escalating issues when required.
- Monitor product safety, quality and legality, ensuring concerns are escalated and the right corrective actions are taken.
- Complete routine internal audits, including glass and brittle plastic inspections, GMP checks and quality audits.
- Monitor CCP and other quality-control checks for compliance and verify key measuring equipment such as scales and oxygen meters to schedule.
- Prepare samples and take part in organoleptic testing, including taste panels - yum!
- Work with Shift Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers to investigate issues and make sure appropriate corrective actions are completed.
- Complete checks, data entry and paperwork accurately and on time, and inspect incoming raw materials when required.
- Coach and support production colleagues to follow procedures and policies, while helping the wider technical team with reasonable ad-hoc tasks.
We'd love to see
- Some quality assurance experience, ideally within food manufacturing.
- A working knowledge of GMP and basic food-safety principles.
- Practical IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email, Excel and smart-device apps.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills.
- Good numeracy, including the ability to calculate averages and percentages.
- A diligent approach and strong attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate effectively and build positive cross-departmental relationships.
- A reliable, flexible and collaborative can-do attitude.
Bonus points if You hold a Level 2 qualification in Food Safety or HACCP.
You'll thrive here if...
- bring energy, care and consistency to every shift
- stay observant, raise concerns and respond appropriately when something doesn't look right
- enjoy working closely with production colleagues to raise standards
- take ownership of accurate checks, records and follow-through
- stay curious and look for practical ways to make things better
- care deeply about making safe, brilliant food for our consumers
