Job Description

Ready to make an impact on globally renowned brands like Gillette, Pampers, Head & Shoulders and Oral-B that millions of consumers can't live without? Want to work at a company consistently recognised as one of the UK's leading graduate employers?

Then apply for our IT Technical Specialist Industrial Placement at our P&G office in Newcastle, where business, innovation and technology come together to create a competitive advantage.

You'll play a key role in designing, building, and supporting best-in-class IT solutions. On this placement, you will be responsible for developing innovative applications. You'll focus on creating an optimal user experience for product design, development and testing, while emphasising a data-first architecture that maximises flexibility and integrates seamlessly with essential systems.

What to Expect:

During your industrial placement you will get a first-hand experience of what a career as a P&G Technical Specialist and the non-management career pathway involves, and if it is right for you. You will be working on live business projects and expected to dive straight in and take the lead. During your projects you can expect to:

  • Contribute to the design and development of AI-driven solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Agentic AI frameworks.
  • Participate in data engineering, analytics, and AI development projects alongside senior team members.
  • Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and data transformation workflows using Databricks.
  • Support the development of interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI.
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, and optimisation of data.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Actively deliver day-to-day technical outputs within defined service levels, project timelines, and coding/configuration standards.
  • Create, update and maintain clear operational documentation to support team knowledge continuity and improve operational efficiency.

Each intern receives a customized learning plan to ensure they get the right levels of coaching, mentoring and training as they deliver their work.

So, if you are looking for an exciting and challenging experience, have a passion for winning, leveraging and developing strong IT skills, leadership credentials and an interest in pursuing a career at P&G - this placement is for you!

What You Will Gain:

  • Responsibilities and Real Work from Day 1: You will be given specific projects and responsibilities working on real and live business challenges, just like a true P&Ger.
  • Continuous Training & Coaching: You will work with passionate people and receive both formal training as well as day-to-day mentoring from your manager.
  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits: The annual salary for this placement is £27,000. On top of this you'll enjoy lots of benefits like the option to enrol in our pension, flexible working arrangements, and your very own 'Flex4Me' Fund which enables you to allocate a portion of your benefits package to the areas that matter most to you.
  • Full Time Role: Successful interns have the potential to secure a full-time position with P&G after graduation in our non-management IT track. As a 'build from within' company, our people start at entry level and increasingly develop their leadership ability and responsibilities. When we make a job offer, it's with the belief that you have the potential to continually grow - building your impact through our organisations. We'll help you get there, and you'll be mentored and coached by skilled P&G veterans along the way.
