The role

Are you ready to develop your skills in acquired communication, voice and swallowing impairments and stammering?

Come and work in a new post in our Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy Service. Based in beautiful Oxfordshire, there is also the added benefit of some remote working.

In this role you will be supported to

  • Provide high quality, evidence-based intervention
  • Work on real life goals to make a difference to the lives of your patients
  • Develop your skills supervising students/apprentices or managing Band 5 SLTs
  • Lead clinical projects with support

We are a supportive team with two well-being champions and we make sure to celebrate our successes along with sharing things that are more challenging. We are assisted by an experienced admin team and innovation is encouraged, with every team member having a voice and being involved and consulted in decision making.

We have yearly team objectives that everyone contributes to and would encourage your involvement in projects and audits.

Some cross-site working may be required, and applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car or other suitable vehicle. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010.

What you'll do

  • You will manage your own clinical caseload across a variety of settings including clinics, care homes and patients' own homes. You will have the opportunity to work remotely and face to face, offering triage, assessment and therapy to adults who have acquired communication, voice or swallowing impairments, or who stammer.
  • You will benefit from a dedicated clinical, managerial and peer supervision programme. We are a flexible service and have been successfully using digital sessions for training and professional collaboration as well as clinical sessions; allowing members of the team to utilize the benefits of remote working.
  • As well as team CPD sessions, you will have access to specialist clinics, such as video-fluoroscopy and voice clinics, and receive regular supervision and training from a voice specialist.
  • You can develop supervisory and managerial skills through training modules provided by the Trust and by supervising students/apprentices or managing Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Post graduate experience and confidence in dysphagia management is essential.

Please see the job description and person specification attached to this advert for more information about the job role.
