The role

As Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring operational resources are aligned with demand, enabling the delivery of high-quality customer service while meeting operational, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining short-, medium-, and long-term schedules, ensuring plans are optimised to maximise productivity, efficiency, and value for money.

Working closely with operational teams and stakeholders, you will manage changing priorities, respond to in-day and short-notice changes, and support operational responses to emergency and unplanned events.

You will use your strong communication and coordination skills to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring schedules, priorities, and changes are communicated clearly and effectively.

Innovation and continuous improvement are important to us, and you will contribute to improving planning processes, enhancing system accuracy, and identifying opportunities to improve operational performance and customer outcomes.

You will also support compliance-led planning activities, ensuring work is planned in accordance with regulatory, statutory, health, safety, environmental, and local authority requirements.

About the role

Are you an organised and proactive Planner looking for a new opportunity?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join our team, supporting the effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of field-based operational activities across the business.

About you

We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Planner who can manage multiple demands in a fast-paced operational environment.

You should have strong planning, scheduling, or workforce management experience, ideally within utilities, field operations, or another operationally focused environment.

You will be highly organised, analytical, and confident using planning and scheduling systems to manage workloads, optimise resources, and support operational delivery.

You will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across operational teams and with internal and external stakeholders.

We're committed to ensuring "Everyone Home Safe Everyday", therefore awareness of health and safety is essential. This means you will ensure planning activities are completed in line with company standards, legislation, and operational requirements.

You will be proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and operational challenges.

Experience or knowledge of street works legislation, permitting, and regulatory approvals would be beneficial, alongside an understanding of planning and scheduling systems within a utility or operational environment.

We're committed to developing our colleagues and are seeking individuals who are motivated to continuously improve, contribute ideas, and support operational excellence across the business.
