The role

About the role

Are you passionate about using data, insight and collaboration to drive operational performance? We're looking for a Leakage Strategy Team Manager to lead our leakage analysis and performance activities, helping us deliver sustainable leakage reductions and meet our regulatory commitments.

Working closely with operational teams, contractors, network managers and demand management specialists, you'll use performance data and operational insight to identify opportunities, improve leakage detection and repair effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement across our end-to-end leakage processes.

As a leader, you'll create an inclusive and high-performing team culture, supporting the development of your people while building strong relationships across the business. You'll also play an important role in influencing operational and strategic decisions by providing clear recommendations, performance reporting and expert insight to senior stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to customers, communities and the environment while shaping the future of leakage management.

We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. If you're excited by the opportunity but don't meet every requirement, we'd still love to hear from you. Join us and help create a more sustainable future through smarter leakage management.

About you

We're seeking a confident and collaborative leader who combines strong analytical capability with a passion for operational excellence. You'll have experience working with complex data sets, turning insight into action and using performance reporting to support business decision-making and regulatory requirements.

You'll be an experienced people manager with a proven ability to develop, coach and motivate high-performing teams, creating an environment where colleagues feel supported, engaged and empowered to succeed. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, as you'll work closely with operational teams, contractors, delivery partners and senior leaders to drive performance and achieve shared objectives.

A solid understanding of water network operations is important, including knowledge of network flows, pressures and operational performance management. You'll bring experience of leakage management and performance improvement initiatives, along with the ability to interpret complex operational challenges and identify practical, effective solutions.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable managing contractor relationships and influencing large, geographically dispersed teams. You'll have a strong understanding of quality procedures and their application within operational environments, together with an awareness of Water Regulations and Water Quality Disinfection Codes of Practice.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys solving problems, driving continuous improvement and using data, insight and collaboration to make a tangible difference to operational performance, customers and the environment.

Please note this role will require a DBS to be completed prior to employment
