This is more than just a job. It's a mission.

As a Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered successfully, balancing customer outcomes, commercial performance, team leadership, and operational excellence. You will work closely with customers, technical specialists, commercial teams, and senior stakeholders to drive successful delivery across medium-scale, high-impact projects within secure and fast-paced environments.

This is an opportunity to combine project leadership, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement to help customers solve complex challenges that matter. You'll have the autonomy to lead delivery, influence strategy, shape ways of working, and contribute directly to business growth and customer success.

If you're motivated by meaningful work, enjoy building high-performing teams, and thrive on turning complex challenges into successful outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a Delivery Manager, you will:

  • Lead the successful delivery of medium-scale projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Take ownership of project financials, including forecasting, profitability, risk management, and commercial performance.
  • Build, motivate, and develop high-performing delivery teams, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Manage project governance activities, including planning, reporting, RAID management, change control, and stakeholder communications.
  • Work closely with customers and technical subject matter experts to understand challenges, identify solutions, and enhance mission success.
  • Support business growth by identifying new opportunities, contributing to account development, and strengthening customer relationships.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from people who can demonstrate:

Essential

  • Experience leading the delivery of projects or programmes within complex technical, defence, government, cyber, engineering, or secure environments.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles including planning, governance, risk management, financial management, and resource coordination.
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, commercial performance, and delivery against contractual commitments.
  • Ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Working knowledge of project delivery tools such as Microsoft Office, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or similar collaboration platforms.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Lean, Scrum, or related delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering projects within UK Government, Defence, National Security, or highly regulated sectors.
  • Understanding of Fixed Price and Time & Materials contract models.
  • Experience coaching teams and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Relevant project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, AgilePM, APM, PMP, Scrum Master, or similar.

At Northrop Grumman UK, we recognise that talent comes in many forms. If you're excited about this role but don't meet every requirement, we'd still encourage you to apply. Your experience, potential, and perspective could be exactly what we're looking for.
